Collection: Third chakra: Manipura (solar plexus)

The third chakra, Manipura, is located in the solar plexus area, near the upper abdomen. It is associated with personal power, willpower, and self-esteem. The color most often associated with this chakra is yellow. When Manipura is balanced, one feels self-confidence, courage to make decisions, and motivation to achieve goals. An unbalanced functioning of this chakra can manifest itself in an excessive desire for power or, conversely, insecurity and self-deprecation. By finding the right balance between drive and flexibility, one can effectively lead both oneself and those around them.

When Balanced

  • Healthy self-esteem: Self-confidence, but not arrogance.
  • Expediency: Clear goals and the ability to achieve them in a purposeful manner.
  • Initiative: Willingness to take responsibility and make changes.
  • Internal force: Calm but firm authority.

When Too Strong

  • Desire for control: Tendency to dictate rules to others, to pressure them.
  • Arrogance: Overconfidence, humiliating behavior towards others.
  • Excessive competitiveness: Everything is seen as a competition.
  • Excessive impatience: Gets irritated quickly if others do not respond quickly.

When Too Weak

  • Lack of self-esteem: Self-doubt, fear of expressing oneself.
  • Victim mentality: Tendency to feel helpless, to blame circumstances.
  • Fear of taking responsibility: Decisions are avoided, direction is lacking.
  • Excessive modesty: Inability to express one's opinions and needs.

How to Balance

Sports, vigorous physical activity or breathing techniques help to strengthen willpower and confidence. It is also useful to set achievable goals: consistently implementing them increases self-esteem. Sunlight and warm colors (e.g. yellow shades in the environment) further support the harmony of Manipura.
